Jeremie Huchet La Bretesche, Muscadet Sevre et Maine sur Lie 2019

An elegant Muscadet, fuller in body than many, with welcome texture from its time on the lees, the flavourful post-fermentation leavings; the result has green apples and lemon, with a dash of salt on the finish.

Ideal served with our noblest shellfish, among which scallops, Dublin Bay prawns and spider crabs. Its authentic flavour will serve as a reminder of the endless variety of the Nantes vineyards.

Muscadet wines are produced from one single stock: "Melon de Bourgogne". In 1709, after terribly sharp frosts, the Melon stock was exported from its native Burgundy and established in the milder climate near the Loire and the Atlantic ocean. We are situated on two-mica augen gneiss; the best plots where the wine you have just tasted is grown are those midway down the slope where the rock is nearest the surface. The vines are 45 years old on average (the most recent ones are 30 years old, the oldest, 60).

We make the wine using state-of-the-art technologies (pneumatic press, temperature control), whilst respecting our traditions and our terroir.
