Antonio Caggiano Taurasi Vigna Macchia dei Goti, Campania 2016

75cl; Natural Cork
14.5% ABV

Sometimes called 'the Barolo of the south', Taurasi is a rich, complex and tannic red made from the Aglianico grape on the clay limestone soils of Campania in Southern Italy, at an altitude of 350m above sea-level.

This wine offers a powerful hit of red and black berries, with highlights of liquorice, cranberry and vanilla.

A beautiful pairing for starters based on regional salami, or with risotto and pasta with meat sauces, but equally happy alongside red-meat, game, and a rich aged cheese.

Following harvest, the must is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless-steel then matured in small oak barriques for a period of 12-18 months.
